The checkpoint is the daytime heart of Protect the Border. The official description reduces the job to a memorable rhythm—ID, face, trunk, next vehicle—but a reliable officer treats that phrase as a complete sequence rather than a speed challenge. Read what the current interface shows, compare the traveler to the identity evidence, inspect the vehicle and cargo, and only then choose the visible action.

The public description confirms legal and illegal goods, bribes, arrests, cuffs, and cells. It does not publish a complete cargo list, every document field, or the exact consequence of each mistake. This hub therefore gives you a repeatable operating method and links to the detailed pages that separate confirmed mechanics from fields that still need a live-server check.

Use one inspection order every time

A fixed order reduces skipped checks. Current community walkthroughs agree on starting with identity, comparing the face, moving to the vehicle and trunk, and delaying the decision until the end. The official description directly supports the ID, face, trunk, and legal-versus-illegal parts of that flow. The exact controls and field names can differ by device and update, so follow the prompts shown in your server.

  1. Start the interaction only when you are ready to finish it.
  2. Read every identity field the current interface exposes.
  3. Compare the traveler’s visible face and features with the presented identity evidence.
  4. Inspect the vehicle areas the game makes interactive.
  5. Open and search the trunk rather than assuming a clean identity means clean cargo.
  6. Review all findings, then choose the action supported by the evidence.

The point is consistency, not slowness. Once the order becomes automatic, you can work faster without relying on memory or guesswork. If a clue is obvious early, still confirm whether another required step remains before committing to an action.

Separate identity evidence from cargo evidence

Identity and cargo answer different questions. A face match may support the traveler’s identity, while the trunk determines whether the goods are allowed under the current rule set. A suspicious identity does not tell you what is in the vehicle, and legal cargo does not repair an identity mismatch. Keep the two tracks separate until the decision step.

Identity track

Read the presented fields and compare them with the person in front of you. Treat only visible mismatches as evidence.

ID + face
Vehicle track

Use the current interactive vehicle checks and open the trunk before deciding. Do not infer hidden cargo from appearance.

Vehicle + trunk
Decision track

Choose approve, reject, arrest, or another current action only after the evidence tracks are complete.

Act last

The Inspection Guide turns these tracks into a device-neutral checklist. It deliberately avoids claiming expiration rules, plate fields, or document types that the official public page does not name.

Read cargo from the current game, not from memory

Protect the Border officially says trunks contain illegal and legal goods, but there is no creator-published public table of every item. That makes screenshots, current prompts, and live rule information more reliable than a generic contraband list. An object that is illegal in another border simulator may be legal here, absent here, or named differently.

Use the Legal and Illegal Items guide as a decision framework and verification ledger. It explains how to record the item name exactly as shown, the rule state, the vehicle or traveler condition, and the checked date. Unsupported item names are omitted rather than guessed. If the interface clearly flags an item, use that current signal; if it does not, do not create certainty from a thumbnail or comment.

Make the final decision deliberately

The official experience describes taking a bribe or taking the suspect in, plus cuffs and cells. That confirms a meaningful enforcement choice, but it does not publicly document every trigger, reward, night effect, or reversal rule. Finish the inspection first so you know whether the choice is based on evidence or impulse.

If the evidence supports a lawful crossing, use the lawful action shown by the game. If the game confirms a violation and offers an arrest flow, follow the current prompts and complete the suspect movement before starting another vehicle. If a bribe appears, compare the immediate offer with your run goal and your squad’s agreed policy. Do not promise that a bribe always causes a particular night penalty unless the current server demonstrates it.

The Bribe or Arrest guide separates official facts from community-reported risk and gives solo and co-op decision rules.

Divide checkpoint jobs in co-op

Up to four officers can play together. A team gains speed only when players own different steps. With two officers, one can handle identity and face while the other handles the vehicle and trunk; both pause for a single final decision. With three or four, assign a decision owner, a suspect runner, or a supply watcher rather than stacking everyone around the same door.

Use short calls tied to evidence: “face match,” “face mismatch,” “trunk clear,” “cargo flagged,” and “hold decision.” Avoid vague calls such as “bad” when another officer must know what you actually saw. The player who performs a check should call the result, and the decision owner should repeat the final state before pressing an action.

Agree on bribes before the queue starts. One officer should not accept an offer while another is trying to arrest the same traveler. If the current game assigns rewards or consequences to a particular player, note that in your squad after a live observation; the public description does not settle ownership.

Prepare for the day-to-night transition

Checkpoint efficiency matters because the game changes after dark. Stop opening new work when your team needs time to reload, heal, move to defensive positions, or clear the lane. A final rushed inspection can leave a traveler, vehicle, or suspect in the wrong place when the attack begins.

Use a simple sunset call: finish the active vehicle, confirm no player is trapped in an interaction, name the night positions, and report readiness. Then move to the Survival hub for the after-dark plan. The exact shift length and transition warning are version-sensitive and should be read from the current UI.

Common checkpoint mistakes

The most common failure is acting on the first clue. A clean face does not end the inspection, and suspicious cargo should not make you forget whether the interface requires another step. Another mistake is letting two co-op players issue conflicting actions. A third is treating community cargo lists or document rules as official even when they were copied from a different game.

Do not optimize speed with unverified shortcuts. If a guide tells you to skip the rest of the inspection after seeing one object, confirm whether the current game still expects the remaining steps. Do not chase a bribe amount that was reported on an older build. Do not leave a cuffed suspect halfway through the movement flow to start the next car.

Checkpoint FAQ

What is the safest inspection order?

Identity, face, vehicle, trunk, review, decision. The official description names ID, face, and trunk; current community walkthroughs consistently place the final action after the checks.

No creator-published public list was available on August 26, 2026. Use current in-game rule signals and avoid lists taken from similarly named border games.

Should the fastest player make every decision?

Not necessarily. A squad benefits more from one clearly assigned decision owner who receives concise results from the check owners.

Does taking a bribe definitely make the night harder?

Some current community guides report that connection, but the public official description only confirms the bribe choice and after-dark survival. Treat the consequence as community reported until reproduced in the current version.
